At St John Vianney, we aim to ensure the transition into Kindergarten is a smooth and positive experience for all students.
Our school’s transition program involves three opportunities for pre-school students to visit and participate in classes and playground activities. Staff also conduct information sessions for parents to learn vital information about school readiness.
New Kinders are well and truly a part of the school community before their official first day. Kinders receive a card from their Year 5 buddies before starting to ensure they have at least one special friend on arrival at school.
Students transitioning to high school are supported with several days at St Paul’s High School, Booragul. There are opportunities for the Year 6 students to visit St Paul’s as well as evening information sessions. The classroom teachers and learning support teachers are available to discuss learning and social needs with representatives from each of the schools into which our students are transitioning.
